Just another agility class

So, Mom's been meaning to get some pictures of my friends from agility class, but she keeps forgetting the camera. This week though, she remembered! Here I am patiently waiting for my turn on the course. This is the hardest thing about agility, waiting for your turn. So boring!

This is Lilly, she is my bestest pal in class. We've been in every session together since last June. She is a Vizsla and is quick as can be and jumps super high! Lilly and I love to play with each other during class, even though we're not supposed to. He he!
Mom tried to get better shots of Lilly and of both of us together, but we can't sit still for too long, so these are the best she could get. Lilly and I love to play bitey face whenever we're waiting.
This was the best Mom could do to get a shot of us both, even the promise of a salmon treat couldn't slow us down for more than a second or two.
So, I've got to tell you what happened at last weeks class. For the past eight months there have been the same core group of dogs in my classes with a new dog here and there. With the newest session, there are two new dogs that are a bit aggressive. They both bark at me when we are waiting for class to start. So, I got fed up this week and when I was brought out to the starting line, I broke away and went after the other dogs! I was barking and growling and showing my teeth. Mom and Dad couldn't believe it. My teacher grabbed me by my scruff and pulled me away from the trouble I started. Mom apologized for my aggressiveness, but my assistant teacher said, I wasn't being aggressive, I was being reactive to the two dogs being aggressive with me. Mom, still felt a bit guilty about me getting all crazy, but she did agree with the reactive thing. Can't wait to see what happens this week! Grrrrr!!

Hunting for the perfect egg

Today was the Doggie Egg Hunt hosted by the Chicago Park District. I had E-Coli last year, so I wasn't able to go, so I was psyched to be going this year!
We got to the park a bit late, so most of the eggs had already been found (not to hard to hide them, when we got 8 inches of snow yesterday). I nosed around looking for the one egg that hadn't been found and eaten already.
Yoo hoo, any treats in there?
Ah hah! Victory, a hidden egg, mmm give me that dog bone! Yummy!
While searching for eggs, I also found time to make a few new friends. Check out this handsome German Shepard pup. He was up for my favorite game, bitey face!
After I managed to uncover three eggs, and Mom and Dad were pretty sure I found all that was left, we headed inside to check out the Easter bonnet parade. After the parade they announced it was time for the trick contest, but no pups would go up and do a trick. After one brave volunteer went up and was too scared to perform, Dad brought me up and we did high-five and roll over. Nothing spectacular, just my usual tricks. Sorry, we don't have any pictures or video of my tricks, as Mom was too slow with the camera. About ten or so dogs went after me, seems like we broke the ice. Then they announced that the English Terrier won the trick contest. Mom, Dad and I all looked around for the English Terrier, when the lady said the terrier in the blue bandanna. Hey wait, that's me! Outta my way people, this pup has to claim his prize!
Here's Dad and I getting our prize, a dog appropriate Easter basket!
Here I am posing with my prize. Mom and Dad were so proud, they never thought we would win in a million years, but here I am, Kirby, champion of the tricks (at the Chicago Doggie Egg Hunt at least)!
Here's a close up of my prize. I got all kinds of goodies. Treats, bones, candy for the hoomans, a ball and a gift certificate to The Barking Lot, where I take my classes and Mom gets my food, so she says she gets the gift certificate. I'm not gonna fight her on that one.
Happy Easter to every bunny!! I'm gonna go snag some of my treats now!!

Woo Hoo, Package From Keeley

Yesterday, in the mail there was a package for me! I was so excited, I took it and tried to open it myself. Mom started to say something about me being impatient, but I was too busy trying to open MY BOX!

The package was from my pup pal to the north, Keeley. I couldn't go to Keeley's pawsome party because Mom was sick. (She's much better now, thank you everyone for your good thoughts). Keeley shipped me some treats that I was supposed to pickup in the fur.
WOW, these treats are delicious! I've seen a lot of other dogs praising the yumminess of the treats, and they are so right! YUMMY!
Mom kept making me 'work' for my treat, but I just kept my eyes locked on the treat, there was no way I was gonna lose sight of that deliciousness.
Mom is making me take my time with the treats so I can't eat them all at once. So, I've been scouring the floor looking for ANY remaining scraps.

Thank you Keeley for sharing your delicious treats. I'm so sorry I missed your party, but I'm sure happy I got some treats!! Yum Yum!!

I'm so bummed

I'm totally bummed today, as I was supposed to go up to Milwaukee to partake in Keeley's birthday party, but Mom got sick. Not just a little bit sick, but really sick. She's been running a fever and hacking like crazy and looks just miserable. The one good thing is that she has been sleeping nearly all day, so I've been curled up in bed with her. I guess if I can't hobnob with Keeley pup and his friends, it's OK to snooze with Mom. I feel really bad that I couldn't hand (or paw) deliver my gift for Keeley in person, as I worked really hard on picking the stuff out. Mom has promised to mail it when she goes to work this week. She better! Happy Birthday to you Keeley, my pal. Looks like your party was pawsome!!

Tags and Road Trips

I've been given the Whippet Challenge by Butchy and Snickers.

Patience and her Whippets have challenged all of us!
Here is her challenge:
I'm challenging bloggers to make something, anything, and post about it. Let's see what you creative people come up with! Here are the rules:
1. Make something, anything. It doesn't have to be complicated or artsy. Make a list, take an interesting picture, make some one's day, make dinner, make a doodle, make fun of yourself, make a poem, make your bed (OK, that last one is lame).2. Write a blog about it. With pictures for extra brownie points.3. Link to this blog and challenge six other bloggers to do the same.

So, Mom admits she is not very creative and doesn't make too many things, so we decided to make some chicken noodle soup together. I chose this as I love everything that goes into the soup!

Mom couldn't handle the camera why she sliced and diced, so here is our finished product as it simmered. I can vouch that the celery and carrots were fresh, as I sampled each one (several times)!

That's right Mom, give me that noodle!
Once the soup was ready, Mom put some in my bowl! How GREAT is that!!
What's this? I have to sit and wait before I chow down, so unfair!!
Mmmmm nothing beats homemade chicken noodle soup. This is so good.
Thanks for including me Butchy and Snickers. I loved cooking (and eating ) with Mom! I'm supposed to challenge another six dogs, but I've seen so many of you who have already done this challenge, so if you'd like to participate, consider your self tagged!

In other news, I am so excited. This weekend I'm taking a road trip with my parents up to Milwaukee to....see Keeley! I have been invited up to see Keeley in the fur for his second birthday party! Mom and I have picked out our gifts for the birthday boy, and I can't wait to deliver them in person. This will be my first live meeting with a fellow DWBer! Yeah!! Mom promises to take lots and lots of pictures and to post about the wonderful time I'm sure we'll have!

Daycare cought on tape

Mom was checking out the website for the Bark Bark Club, that's where I went to daycare this week, and she found that they take videos of the dogs during the day and post them to their website. Here's the video from Tuesday, my first day there. You watch and tell me if the Airedale on tape looks like a 'senior'.

I think I look like a fairly crazy one year old. Mom says that most 'senior' dogs she knows don't even act 'senior'. So ha, maybe I was calm, but wouldn't you be after doing the zoomies?

Daycare Day!

Today was my first day in dog daycare. Normally, my Dad works from home, so we just hang out together during the day, but Dad has to be in the office this week, so off to daycare I was sent.

Last week I had to go in and take a temperament test, which I passed with flying colors. Like I could possibly be a mean Airedale?

So this morning, I was dropped off and said a big goodbye to Mom and Dad. That's when all the fun began. I played all day long. It was GREAT! My neighbor dog, Doolin, was at daycare too, so we played for hours!! When Mom came to pick me up she was asked how old I was. Mom replied that I will be two in July and the worker told her she was surprised as I was quite calm while playing, so they thought I was a senior dog. Oh my! Mom just laughed and said maybe I was a bit nervous being in daycare for the very first time.

Now, I'm so tired, all that play really wore me out. I'm heading back to bed to get my rest, I've got two more days of daycare ahead of me. Oh dog!

'Till next time,

Finally up and running again!

Hi pals, well I'm happy to say that our new laptop is up and running! Yeah, Mom and I can get back to blogging with all of you! Since I've been away for awhile, I thought I'd show you what I've been up to lately. Since I couldn't blog or really use the computer to check out everyones blogs, I had to entertain myself. I found a whole bunch of fun with Mom's exercise ball. Not only is it big and round, but it rolls and bounces around. I was rolling on top of it, but Mom couldn't take the picture fast enough.
Since I'm a master of popping basketballs, I thought I'd try my luck at this one. I tried and tried, but couldn't get a good bite.
Mom wasn't too happy with me trying to eat her ball, but when she wasn't looking, I kept trying to get in a good bite.
When I wasn't playing with something, I would nap, and sometimes so would Mom! Here we are sleeping in her big bed. We were tired of waiting for Dad to finish setting up the new laptop, so we fell asleep. I've got to say, their bed is so much better than mine! Dad came in to see what we were doing and took the picture. He thought we looked so cute snuggled up together.
Well, it's back to bed for me. All this blogging has made me good and tired.

'Till next time,
Kirby
