Keeley, I've got rough paws too!
Keeley's Mom was worried if Keeley's rough paw pads were normal, and my Mom and I think they are. Mine are totally rough. I love to paw at Mom and scratch her up a bit! He he!! Faya encouraged us to show you our paws, so here is what we could get. I do a lot of walking and running on concrete, so my pads are rough, but my vet says that is A-OK. Mom checks for cracks and every so often she puts on this balm that helps with the salt in the winter and supposedly softens the pad. So, Keeley, I think you have the paws of an active terrier, and that is totally normal!

Thanks for showing your paws, Kirby. I think my girl is finally going to back off and let my paws be. If you rub them in one direction, they're smooth. If you rub them in the opposite direction, they're sandpaper-ish. But it's the edges that are really rough. That must be the part that's scratching up my girl's arms. My vet looked at them in April and said that they look good. My girl just has to learn these things.
