My Pal Jackson

My pal Jackson had some unfavorable test results come back recently. He and his parents sure could use some cheering up, so if you haven't already, please stop by his blog and pass on some kind words of encouragement. I just know with all of our support we can help Jackson and the Js through this difficult and stressful time! Thank you!!

Mmmmmm Gaia treats!

Last week a package arrived with my name on it! I was so excited. I grabbed it off the counter and ran straight to my bed. Oh look, it's from my pal Gaia!!
I wonder if I can gnaw the corner off this box? Something in there smells GOOD!
Inside were some yummy looking TREATS! Mom let me sniff the bag and select my first treat. I chose the mint treat which smelled great and tasted even better!
Next up was the carob chip cookie. It was delish!!
Then Mom set up what she calls the pups choice. Look at my concentration in this stay, no sneaking up and stealing a treat! Decisions, decisions, decisions, which will I choose?
Mmmmm, it's the carob chip for me! These are so good, then I scarfed down the other two before Mom could put them back in the bag. He he!
I highly recommend you check out Gaia's site and get the info about her treats, they are super yummylicious! Thank you so much Gaia. I give your treats my highest recommendation FOUR paws up!!

Thank you for the barkday wishes!

Thank you to all my friends for you wonderful barkday/birthday wishes. It helped to make my birthday so special!!

Check out this super sweet card I got from Rocky, Bear & angel LacyLulu. I love how excited I look in the picture.
I also got two great e-cards from Maggie & Mitch and Molly & Taffy. Mom is computer deficient at times, and has not been able to figure out a way to load the cards. Thank you for the cards, they were so great. Oh, and M&M, I did get ice cream all over my beard!

Lenny sent me a hilarious card through the mail. Mom tried to scan it, so you would all see it, but our printer/scanner/fax/copier decided to die out on us. Mom just looooves electronics. Trust me, it was hi-lar-ious!

The week before my birthday, I saw a box with my name on it. Mean old Mom made me wait till my birthday party. One look at the box and I knew it was from my pal to the north, Keeley! It was the Irish Terrier birthday dog sticker that gave it away! He he!!
I worked and worked on getting the box open, but no amount of chewing would make it open up. Mom stepped in to assist, and I breathed in my first sniffs of birthday goodness!
First thing I found was this PAWSOME Harley Davidson Museum bandanna! Grandma helped put it on me, and I think I look super cool!
I just love being a Harley dog!
Also included in the box was a big green prickly squeaky ball. I love this thing! I like nothing better than grabbing it first thing in the morning to 'assist' Mom and Dad in waking up. There was also a giganto bag of Jones Natural Chews! It's a variety pack, so I can try everything they have! Woo Hoo!!
Mom and Dad tried to get everything together so we could get a nice picture and say Thank You to Keeley, but I was not having it. I just wanted to eat my chews!!
Finally, after a snack, I was willing to sit for one picture with all my wonderful loot from Keeley. Thank you so much Keeley, I love all my prezzies!!

I'm 2 Today!

We started my 2nd birthday celebration yesterday at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Grandma made me this snazzy party hat so everyone would know that I'm now 2 years old! Soon after, I ate the hat. What can I say? I like paper...
Grandma started things off by giving me some treats she got at the local dog bakery. Mmmm mmmm good!
Spencer got some treats too. I also brought a bag of his favorite, Senior Greenies, he was super happy once he got one.
After our treats, I opened up a few of my gifts. I love eating the wrapping paper almost as much as I love playing with my new toys.
Grandma was busy making some treats for the humans, but since the party was for me, I thought I should give them a Kirby taste test first.
After all those treats, I went outside and did a little roaching. This ALWAYS feels so good!
Then of course I had to head into the water. I took my newest toy into the water too.
Then I took it for a trip around the lake. I actually brought it back when Mom and Dad threw it in.
Here I am chasing off some of the stupid geese that are pooping all over Grandma's yard. While I like their poop, Grandma is tired of it. She says it's everywhere. I swam all the way across the lake after those geese and they still wouldn't leave.
I tried out a little bitey face with Spencer. He actually played a little bit with me.
Back inside to open some more prezzies, I got a new Water Wubba from Grandma. Too bad I like to play with it out of the water more than in the water.
Then it was on to the cake! Grandma ordered me a Blues Clues cake without any chocolate so it was dog friendly!
Mmmmm cake and ice cream, oh so good!
More prezzies!
Back outside and trying to chase away those stupid geese!
Mom got some clown cookies for Spencer and me, but I was too excited to let her get a photo of them. I had to have mine right then. Mom says I was riding a sugar high from my cake and ice cream.
Now, on to today, my actual birthday! I opened up a few more presents from Mom and Dad. I got some super cool pawlimpics boxing gloves. I'll have to get some pictures of me using them and send them on to Lenny.
I got a super cool new Orbee Mars ball, Mom had a hard time getting a good picture, sine I was running all over the place.
More cake! Mmmm, I could get used to this!
Got to make my wish. Hmmm, what do I want.....
Thanks to all of you who wished me a happy birthday! I did have a great birthday! A huge thank you to Keeley for my super pawsome package. I'll post again with pics of all the great things I got. Thanks to Maggie & Mitch and Molly & Taffy for your pawsome E-cards. Lenny gets a huge thank you for the super hilarious card. It had Mom and Grandma cracking up. And of course, thank you to the king & queen of all birthdays, Rocky and angel LacyLulu for their great email card You all helped to make my birthday super special, thank you so much!!
'Till next time or when this sugar coma wears off,
Kirby

Weekend at the lake

What a wonderful long weekend I had up at the family cottage at Paw Paw Lake! Lots of family, fun and most importantly food! With all of us dogs, it was chaos as usual. Here are some pictures of my fellow pooches.

Layla is the newest to the family. She is small, but tough. She and I like to ride on the boat together, and she's learning how to swim. Maybe by Labor Day she'll be out in the deep water with me.

I believe most of you are familiar with Spencer by now. He belongs to my Grandma and Grandpa and is their fifth Airedale! He's almost 13, but is still got a wild streak in him. He does not like fireworks of any kind, so he was a bit unglued this weekend. Poor Spence.
Another of the elder dogs is Bailey. She is the eldest of the Husky side of the family. He he! She might be a mature dog, but given the right moment she'll play a great game of bitey face.
And who could forget Stormy? Stormy is the newest of the Huskies. We have a love/hate relationship. We love to play with each other, but she hates for me to play with Layla. I guess Layla belongs to her. In this picture, Stormy is enjoying a dog cookie Mom got for all of us when she did some shopping. Yummy!
When I'm at the lake, I've got to get my swim on. I love to paddle around down by the pier and play with my water Kong.

Even paddling around can get boring for this pooch. I think I really need to get swimming. Faster Grandpa, faster! I want to head out to where the water is deep!
Mom always worries about me when I'm swimming in the deep water. She says I get tired really easy and I look nervous since there is no where to get out of the water and rest. To fix this, Mom ordered me a doggy life jacket. Pretty snazzy, huh?
Mom wasn't sure how I'd react to swimming with the life jacket on, but I had no problems. As soon as I was off the boat, I took off in the water. I chased every duck out of the cove we were anchored in. I was swimming so far off, Mom and Dad were yelling for me to come back. People in other boats were all laughing and yelling for me to come back too!
Swimming with the jacket on is so easy. I can paddle slowly and really enjoy myself out in the 20 feet deep water!
Now this is the life. I could really get used to this.

Watch out ducks, here I come!
Dad even hitched a ride as I played with my water Kong.
Back inside, the craziness of five pooches in one house continued. Stormy, Layla and I love to bark and chase one another.
Come back, little Layla! I can't quite get under there.
Once the chaos becomes too much for the house, we are all banished to the backyard, where we run, roach and have a wonderful time.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend!

'Till next time,

Kirby
