Yes, Michigan!

This weekend we all went up to the family cottage in Michigan. I love going up there because I play with my cousins Bailey and Stormy, the Huskies. Grandma and Grandpa's Airedale, Spencer, is up there too, but he is not a fan of the ever spunky puppy that I am. Life is good up in Michigan. I get to play non stop with Stormy, swim as much as I like in Paw Paw Lake (pretty good lake for a dog to swim in), go for boat rides and have everyone slip me treats when Mom and Dad aren't looking. Each morning I love to wake up my Uncle John since he sleeps on the bottom bunk. Apparently, he's not a fan of my slobbery kisses and nips, so he decided to sleep on the top bunk. Does he think he can outsmart me? No way! I'm one craft pup, and nothing will stop me from getting onto the top bunk.

After the whole family is up and about, we usually head down to the water to do some boating. Since I have become such a water dog, I usually ignore the boat and head straight to the WATER!

(Mom tried to upload video of me swimming, but the computer wasn't cooperating. Hopefully she'll be able to post it later.)

Sadly, this weekend our wave runner would not work like it should. Grandpa and Uncle John couldn't figure out what was wrong. I thought I could help. Maybe it just needed a super cool 'dale driving it.

Before we headed back to Chicago, we went for one last boat ride. This time I went cruising with Uncle John in the speed boat, but even the coolest dog gets tired after an action packed weekend, and must lie down and take a nap.

Westfest!

Earlier this month Mom and Dad took me to my very first street festival, Westfest! In Chicago, there are street festivals everywhere all summer long, Mom usually avoids them since they usually involve food, and I don't have the best manners around food. The reason I was lucky enough to go to Westfest is that they have a whole huge pet section called Petfest! How cool is that! I strolled the booths checking out all the new dog foods, toys and grooming products. Mom picked up some Growl and Meow foaming facial wash for me. Apparently I get my fuzzy face all sticky and gross when I eat my rawhide (amongst other things). I got a new Chicago Bears bandanna, as I outgrew my puppy Bears bandanna. Finally, I discovered a wonderful thing, doggy baby pools! Since it was super hot that day, they set up a few baby pools for all things furry to cool off in. At first I just thought it was for splashing around, but then I got it, the pool is for sitting in and cooling off! Aaaahhhhh, summertime fun!

My 1st Birthday!

On July 14th, I turned 1! Such a big milestone (well according to mom it was). I was just happy to get all the prezzies and treats! Mom and Dad put me in the big car and we motored off to Grandma and Grandpa's house in the country. If you didn't know, I'm a city dog living in a condo, but my Grandparents live in a HUGE log home on 10 acres with a lake! As usual, Spencer and Savannah (Grandma & Grandpa's Airedales) wanted nothing to do with my constant puppy play, but Grandma is always ready for a kiss! Grandma and Mom made sure I had a huge assortment of prezzies: a giant tennis ball, flex Frisbee, rope ball, squeaky duck and lots o' bones.

Spencer and Savannah wanted nothing to do with my dog cake, they preferred to have the human cake mom and dad were eating. All in all it was a great day, I hope all my birthdays are this nice!
