Thinking of Bogart's Family & Honest Scrap Award

The water has been leaking from our eyes around here a lot lately. We are hoping and praying for Bogart's Dad Klaus. He's very ill and needs all the paw power and positive thoughts that we can send to him. Klaus is not only the Father of the much loved Bogart, but he is the mastermind behind the Chez Bogart jerky treats, which are yummers! So, please keep Klaus, Lulu and of course Bogart in your thoughts.

Neko passed the Honest Scrap award on to me. I'm supposed to write 10 honest things about myself and then pass this award and task on to seven other bloggers. Neko, I hope you enjoy what I write, and thank you for the pawsome award!
  1. I am food obsessed, so that's probably why I have a weight issue. He he! I'll do ANYTHING for a treat, and I mean anything.
  2. Accident prone is a good way to describe what I am. I am at the vet almost every two months. I've had Panosteitis, Pneumonia, E-Coli, a puncture wound on my back, one on my paw pad, an injured neck and a middle glute injury that required 12 weeks of therapy. Sheesh!
  3. I absolutely love my Veterinarian. Maybe it's because I'm there so often.
  4. While I love my Vet, I love my Mom more than anyone. I wait at the door for her to come home from work everyday. My world basically revolves around her.
  5. I love the snow, and each time it snows more, I can't wait to get out and romp around in the snow!
  6. I have no patience at all. I cry and whine if we ride in the car because I want to get there now. It drives Mom and Dad crazy!
  7. I think of myself as the mayor of the street we live on. I know and get along with all the doggies on my block, and I get everyone out and playing together.
  8. I love tennis balls, I love to chew on them and pop them. Mom can only buy the real tennis balls now, since they don't break as easy as the pet store kinds.
  9. I am totally spoiled by my Grandma and Grandpa. I've got them wrapped around my paw and they give me all kinds of toys and treats. It's great being an only dog!
  10. I am a noisy sleeper. I make all kinds of grunts, groans, growls and howls while I sleep.

I know that I'm supposed to pass this on, but I've been behind on my blog reading, so I don't know whose done this one and who hasn't. Let me get caught up and then I'll pass it on.

Let's keep our paws crossed for Bogie and his family!!

'Till next time,

Kirby

Florida Vacation - Final Installment & My Hurt Paw

After a crazy New Years Eve, Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Uncle John were up early and heading out of the house, leaving me home with Grandma. I was a bit sad.
They left me to drive up to Tampa Bay to attend the Outback Bowl featuring Mom's alma matter, The University of Iowa!
Mom said it was a great game, very exciting and they all had a great time!
The game was played at Raymond James Stadium where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play, Mom was bummed that the pirate ship was closed, she's always wanted to check it out.
The best part was that Iowa won the game! Wooo hooo! They really beat up South Carolina....go Big Ten!!!
A few days later Uncle John and Mom took me and Spencer for a walk. Check out this great creek that Mom wouldn't let me play in, cuz apparently there are alligators in there.
There were so many great smells, I was in heaven!
I finally gave in and did what I was meant to do, so I ROACHED!
And I roached some more!
Fine Mom, I'll stop. I just can't help myself.
As our time was winding up in Fort Myers, we decided to go back to dog beach one last time. It was so great to be back on the beach, but I was sad knowing we were going home soon.
Spencer came too and was having a great time in the water!
It was so sunny, I had to squint. Good thing Mom uses a lotion on me with sunscreen!
Look at Spencer pose. That fella loves the water!
One last palm tree photo before we head home to cold, snowy Chicago.
On the road trip home, pit stops are necessary. Here we are lunching at Chick-fil-A in Georgia. People, let me tell you, their nuggets ROCKED! I wish there were one of these in Chicago.
Come on, one more nugget for the road....please????
Are we there yet? This is one long trip home.

What a great vacation I had. I will remember it forever! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for such a wonderful time!
Now, on to my hurt paw. I've been limping for the last week, and Mom and Dad thought I had hurt my paw on the snow and/or ice outside, but as Mom was inspecting my paw pad, she saw what she assumed was a cyst, so off to the vet we went.
The vet, the bestest ever, Dr. Marks, checked out my food and thinks it's not a cyst, but a puncture wound just off my paw pad. The cyst like formation is a bacteria buildup. Dr. Marks cleaned me up and sent us home with antibiotics to take to kill the icky bacteria that is hurting my paw. I'm already limping a bit less, so hopefully, I'll be back to normal soon!
'till next time,
Kirby
