Today I'm 3!

Today I turned three years old, and the best part of the day was being reunited with Mom and Dad since their vacation is finally over (more on that in another post). After lots of kisses and tail wagging, I got down to the business at hand, celebrating my 3rd birthday!
We started off opening the prezzies right away! I just can't control myself when I'm opening gifts. He he!
YEAH, more gifts!
Last week, while I stayed at my Grandparents, they threw me a big old doggy birthday party. Grandma got me this giant tennis ball, which I destroyed in under 30 seconds!
Wow, what is this? Doggie brew for my 21st (in dog years) birthday! Too pawsome!
Now, I love a good nip of the yummy alcohol, but Mom wouldn't let me have a whole bottle. The Doggie Brew is actually a yummy beef broth that was so delicious!!!
Here's a look at the loot I got from my party last week and what I got from Mom and Dad today. I sure did pretty well!
The best part of the birthday, the CAKE! MMMMMmmmm, cake! (yellow cake of course, no chocolate for this pup)
How can you make me wait for my piece of cake? I WANT IT NOW!
Mmmmm cake, yummmmmmm.....
A huge thank you to my pals Lenny and Molly and Taffy for their pawsome cards. Thank you so much, they made my day!

Fun at Grandma & Grandpa's!

A couple of weekends ago, Mom, Dad and I packed up the car and headed off to Grandma and Grandpa's for the day. When I go to their house it is pure fun. They spoil me rotten and I get to run wild on their 10 acres, plus they have a lake to swim in. Wooo hoooh!

As soon as I arrived, I took off for a run in their yard. I'm a city dog, so they have got a lot of grass to run and graze on. He he!
My Uncle John is always willing to play with me, so he started to throw my ball around for me. I just love my Uncle John.
Even when everyone else started to go inside to eat, I still wanted to play with my Uncle. Can you see the concentration on my face. I really, really want him to throw the ball!
Of course, a dog can only play fetch for so long, so then I'm off to the lake for a swim. The geese weren't on the lake that day, which disappointed me. I love to chase the geese off the water.
This picture was taken when I was supposed to be getting in our car to head home, but I wanted to check out the creek that runs behind the lake. There's a beaver that lives back there, and I sooo want to catch him!
Ahhh, nothing beats spending time at my Grandparents house. I can't wait to go there and visit again!!

Computer is fixed, Bark in the Park and an AWARD!

My amazing Dad finally removed all traces of the Malware virus, so I am happy to be back on the pooter and blogging again! Thanks Dad, you're the best!

A few weeks ago, I participated in my 3rd Bark in the Park. Bark in the Park is a 5k walk and festival that benefits the animals that the Anti Cruelty Society of Chicago takes care of. Mom always says that its good to give back, so I love to help out pooches who are less fortunate than I.

I just love Bark in the Park. I love to sniff all the other dogs, play bitey face and just act silly. I didn't even want to sit for this picture to be taken. I wanted to get going!
As usual, we wormed our way to the front of the pack of walkers (Dad keeps trying to get on TV...sheesh!) and were off and speed walking quickly! Along the course, there are human water stations and doggie water stations. Being the picky dog that I am, I would only drink out of bowls with fresh water in it. He he! (sorry the picture is flipped the wrong way, it won't load correctly).
After the walk, we headed over to the food tent to get some treats. They had bananas and string cheese, two of my favorites, so I was in a GREAT mood! After the treats, Mom had my paw print done, this one will be the third one she has, she feels the need to get a new paw print done every year at Bark in the Park. Then, I had a post walk mini-massage from my favorite ladies at Integrative Pet Care. After I was good and relaxed from my massage, we walked around and checked out all the booths with vendors.

While we were walking around, I met this gorgeous Aire-girl Erin. She was so sweet and wanted to play with a fellow 'dale.

After all that excitement, we were all tired and ready to go home. On the way back to the car, we saw that another side of the park was having a kite festival. Look at how cool those kites are! One was even shaped like a cat! Can you believe it!!!
Molly and Taffy were so kind to give me the Neno's Award. Thank you so much for this pawsome honor Molly and Taffy!

Broken Computer

Sorry I've been away from your blogs and so bad about updating mine, but Mom somehow got a virus on our computer that has been very hard to get rid of, so we are not using it 'till the virus is gone for good. Hopefully, we'll be back up and functioning soon, but in the meantime, Mom is illegally blogging from her work computer. Hope she doesn't get caught! If any of you know how to get rid of the Malware virus, let us know. Dad thinks he's figured out how to delete it, but better safe than sorry.

Your pal,
Kirby

Wishing all the Moms a wonderful Mother's Day!

Mom and I were chatting tonight and we realized just how long it had been since 1) we posted on my blog and 2) since we left comments on our friends blogs. Oh, we felt just horrible. We've been busy with tons of different things, but that is no excuse to ignore our blogging, and we promise to work harder at it. Ok, now on to more important things....

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mommies out there. It doesn't matter if you've got hooman pups or if you are an animal mommy. Happy, happy Mothers Day to you all!

I absolutely ADORE my Mom. Dad says my world revolves around here, I simply say that she is GREAT! I thought I'd include some nice pictures of my Mom, but in my searching, I realized she's not in many. Guess the picture taker gets left out a lot. He he!

This is the very first picture of me and my Mom. I was seven weeks old and had no clue what was going on, but I sure am happy that I ended up with her!!

I love to follow Mom around the house and mimic what she is doing. Below is a favorite picture of mine, as we are both enjoying a nice quiet nap.
My Mom is totally pawsome. She makes sure I'm in good health and worries herself if I'm not. She ensures that I'm groomed and clean and that I have stylish collars for all seasons. In a word, she is simply GREAT!
Happy Mothers Day to my wonderful Mom and Happy Mothers Day to all you wonderful Moms out there! Enjoy your very special day!!

'Till next time,
Kirby

Bunny gifts and working out

I woke up early on Easter morning and couldn't wait to see if the Easter Bunny brought me anything!
Wooo hooo, the bunny brought me a little stuffed lamb.
Nothing beats a new stuffie!
What is that? The Easter Bunny brought me a MEGA Kong Wubba too... SCORE!

I've broken all of my other Wubba's, yet so far I haven't been able to even rip the fabric. Trust me, I've been trying!!!
Since Easter, I've been working on my fitness and weight loss program. I alternate weeks of underwater treadmill and exercises. Here I am working on the big ball!
I'll do any stretch for a yummy treat!
Along with the stretching and exercises, I get to use the land treadmill, here is a video of me working for food (as always).

Doggie Egg Hunt & I got some ink!

This weekend, we went to the 6th annual Doggie Egg Hunt at a local park. According to the newspaper, over 125 dogs participated, and let me tell you it looked like there were more! There were so many dogs there, that we were limited to the amount of eggs we could find. We made sure we were at the front of the line to enter the egg hunt area, so I would get some prime eggs!

As soon as we were let in the hunt area, I took off sniffing for the goodness hidden inside those little plastic eggs!
Lots of dogs didn't know they had to pop open the egg to find the treat inside, but Mom has been practicing with me, so I was good t go!
There were mini dog bones in the eggs and they were delish!
Mom thought the wooden bunnies by the doors were so cute and wanted to get a picture with me and the bunny. Not so fast Mom, I don't want to stand here while there are so many dogs around!
OK, that's enough! I'm outta here, I've got so many dogs I need to meet!!
Oh, while I was hunting up some eggs, a photographer with the Chicago Sun Times was following me around, and guess what, my picture ended up in the Sunday paper (page 8)! Woo hooo! Here is the picture that was used, apparently not many dogs were opening the eggs on their own, so the photographer was quite impressed with me! Grandma was so proud when Mom told her I was in the paper, she said I got some ink, whatever that means! I just like being the most famous Kirby in Chicago. He he!!

Snowy Sunday

Today, I woke up to SNOW! I couldn't believe it, didn't spring already start? Should it look like a blizzard outside my window? No, I don't think so. Mom decided with the weather being yucky, we would share some pictures of last weekend, when the weather was NICE!

Last weekend the temperatures were in the 60's, so we decided to take a walk along Lake Michigan. I like to walk along the wall and look down at the water. Wish it was nice enough to go swimming.
What do you mean that I can't jump down and swim? I want to go swimming now!
At the halfway point, I decided to rest. Can't beat the views or all the other doggies who were out for walkies too.
OK, I'm ready to head back now. Maybe we could get a snack on our way home?
So, Mom and Dad did stop and get a snack on the way home. They got ice cream, and DIDN'T share with me. Mom said it was due to something about me needing to lose weight. Grrrrr. Look at how Dad was teasing me. Sigh, life just isn't fair.
I'm hoping today was the very last snow for the year. I can't wait until it is nice and warm and I can go swimming and get to eat ice cream! Hope you all had a nice weekend!
'Till next time,
Kirby

I met Keeley!

This weekend, I was invited to the birthday party of our very own Keeley! Not only was this my first time meeting Keeley, but it was my first time meeting a fellow DWB member. Woot woot!! I was a bit nervous when I arrived. Keeley had a whole bunch of friends there and I was hoping we would all get along...which we did! Keeley and I got along great! We played a whole bunch and had many bitey face matches. Ahhh, good times!

After a few hours outside playing, we all came in to eat and have cake. Well, the humans had cake and us dogs had super pawsome cookies! Then Keeley opened his presents. He sure scored a bunch of great toys and treats!! Below, we are all getting treats from Keeley's girl, Erin. Mmmm, treats!
Every dog got a goodie bag to take home, here's a picture of mine below. If you notice, my snout is in the bottom corner. I was trying to sneak a bite while Mom was busy taking the picture. He he!
After a day of fun and birthday games and the long drive to and from Milwaukee, I was pooped. I slept the whole ride home and the rest of the evening. Today, I'm still a bit tired too. It was one great party!
Thank you for including me in your pawty Keeley! I had a blast! I can't wait to meet you again in the fur!! Happy 3rd Birthday!!!!

'Till next time,
Kirby
