I'm all blessed now!

Today, I was loaded into the car and taken to St. Michael's Church in Old Town for the annual Blessing of the Animals.

I was pretty excited to be there. I had no idea what a blessing was, but I saw some other dogs, so I was good to go.
When we arrived there were only two other dogs already there, but as the service began lots of dogs and a few cats arrived!

It was a perfect fall day outside, so the blessing took place in the courtyard of the church. I had no clue what the priest was saying, but after the blessing he slipped me a dog treat, so he's alright with me.
Here's me as I am getting sprinkled with holy water. I turned and gave my rear end to the priest, so mom laughs and said my rump was blessed. He he he!
Now I'm a blessed Airedale! I'm not looking too happy in this picture since mom is keeping me away from the refreshment table.
Don't worry pals, moments after the picture was taken, I hightailed it over to the treats. Just like a good little doggy!

I wonder, now that I'm blessed can I cause all the trouble that I want? Hmmph, that's one to think about.

Got Groomed?

Mom felt that I was getting a bit shaggy, so off I went to get groomed.

I spent a few hours at the Bark Bark Club, where I was washed, dried, trimmed, clipped and fluffed. Yuck, yuck and more yucks! Below is a picture of the final product. Not too shabby, huh?

Today they gave me the traditional Airedale cut. Minus the goatee. Mom is adamant that I can't complete in Stanley and Maggie's beard growing contest.

Well, I'm off to bed. Grooming always makes me super sleepy. See you all real soon!

OK, I've had time to think about it, and I am now ready to pass on the I Love Your Blog Award! I would like to present the award to my Canadian Aire buddy, Jaffa. Jaffa, aka Stinky, has some pretty big shoes to fill, being the nephew of Sunshade, but his blog is grrreat! Jaffa truly let's us in on his daily life, including his very private, but totally interesting lovelie detachment. Jaffa, I love you buddy and I love your blog. Keep up the pawsome work!!

Broken Wubba

As a reward for losing my three pounds, Mom got me a Wubba. She has been looking for for one at all of the pet stores, specialty stores and doggie boutiques, but these things have been hard to find! Finally, she found one today. It wasn't a Wubba 'Wubba', it's a Kong Wubba. I love all my Kong toys, so mom snapped it up. I was soooo excited when she gave it to me. I took it to my bed and was chewing and squeaking away. Mom came back not a half hour later, and this is what she found.
I had chewed through my Wubba! I am a hardcore chewer, and I love nothing more than chewing on tennis balls.
Not only did I chew through the Wubba cover, but I also ate the tennis ball inside.
Mom hated to toss out the whole toy, so she popped out the tennis ball and tossed the remainder of the Wubba back at me.
Now, I'm enjoying squeaking my Wubba all around the house. Has this happened to any other doggies out there in blogging land? Just wondering...

NEWS FLASH: I'VE LOST THREE POUNDS!

OK, to most of you, this may not seem like a big deal, but when I went to the vet for my booster shot this week, they weighed me and I've lost over three pounds. See, my vet thought I was getting a bit chunky at 67 pounds, so she put me on a diet. I was immediately switched off of puppy food and onto big dog food, and I'm not allowed to have too many treats. This has made me very unhappy! While I love my new dog food, the lack of treats has left me a bit cranky! Mom and Dad are being super strict about the decreased treats, and no amount of tricks or looking cute gets me anything extra. So, the three pound loss was GREAT news! Maybe some extra treats or a big 'ol rawhide will find their way into my mouth now. Let's hope they do.

My song for Harry (and Katy & Martin)

I'm answering Asta's tag of picking a song to welcome Harry. I think that any dog finding their forever home is cause for CELEBRATION, and that's what I went with for my song choice. I know all the dogs are celebrating that you have found your new forever home with the very wonderful Katy and Martin. Welcome Harry!
